Clyde Shepherd Sheep Project

Clyde Shepherd Sheep Project

Clyde Shepherd Nature Preserve (CSNP) is an urban wetland and wildlife sanctuary in Atlanta GA. English Ivy (Hedera helix) and other escaped houseplants are taking over CSNP, literally killing more trees every year and suppressing the native ecosystem and leading to loss in biodiversity. ACE is partnering with “City Sheep and Goat” to bring sheep to CSNP and remove ivy through a natural regenerative grazing approach. Restoration efforts continue today with monthly volunteer days building on the progress first made by the sheep including installation of the “Sheep ridge trail”, learning about the yellow-passionflower, and bringing in native plants.

A community effort using sheep to eat invasive plants and restore the ecosystem

Native Plants!

We need your help sourcing native plants! This big leaf magnolia was recently saved from a pending development at a “GNPS plant rescue” and will be installed at our restoration site. Please consider donating to support our effort to bring in more native plants.
